LACK OF ACCESS TO IMPROVED SANITATION FACILITIES

Improved sanitation facilities ensure hygienic separation of human excreta from human contact. They include: Flush or pour-flush toilet/latrine to a piped sewer system, a septic tank or a pit latrine. Sanitation facilities that are not considered as "improved" include pit latrine without slab, bucket latrines, hanging toilet or latrine or making use of the bush / field to defecate.
